We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Research Specialist (entry or lead level depending on the candidate’s qualifications) in the Division of Digestive Diseases, Department of Medicine. We preform studies related to metabolic diseases and iron metabolism by using in vitro cell culture models (both cell line and primary cell culture) and in vivo tools. We attempt to address how the mitochondrial function is altered in diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases, and the potential role of aberrant mitochondrial iron metabolism in this process.
The potential candidate should be dependable, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude and passion for research. It is preferred that the candidate has lab experience in molecular or cell biology techniques and experience working with mice including genotyping, injection, blood and tissue collection. Previous experience with cell sorting and flow cytometry is a plus
