SUMMARY
The Associate Director designs and coordinates the Mental Health Program U.S.-focused Public Policy operations and activities, including public policy development, policy analysis, issue research, coalition building, and grassroots advocacy. They lead initiatives to advance public policy change in the U.S., the State of Georgia, and other states/regions in areas including mental health access and parity, school-based behavioral health programs, and early intervention/prevention. They collaborate across programs within the Mental Health Program (including the Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism and Global Behavioral Health) and other Carter Center programs, when applicable, while leveraging external partnerships and managing coalitions. This position will report to the Director of the Mental Health Program. The position is based in Atlanta, and domestic travel is required as needed.
