  • Monitors and processes a variety of fiscal transactions.
  • Reviews reports, reconciles data and prepares payment requests for premium and administrative fees for benefit plans.
  • Monitors eligibility reporting, including error reports from vendors and processes changes and corrections, as necessary.
  • Develops and monitors budgets and financial reports.
  • Prepares spreadsheets, ledgers, worksheets, etc. Reviews accounts payable transactions for accurate documentation.
  • Authorizes and submits payments and maintains accurate records.
  • Responds to inquiries; checks accounting transactions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


  • Two years of college coursework which includes accounting or business courses and two years of accounting, benefits or related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
  • An understanding of accounting and benefit plan administration including DOL, IRS, HIPAA and ERISA regulations.
  • Knowledge of HRIS databases (PeopleSoft preferred), Accounts Payable (Compass preferred) and advanced excel skills strongly preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
