  • The Respiratory Virus Prevention (RVP) Branch is looking for a Full-time Communications Specialist to support development and execution of a communications strategy as well as execution of day-to-day communications activities for the CoVIP program and the Partnership for Influenza Vaccine Introduction (PIVI), with limited support for other RVP programs. For both programs these activities relate to outreach and regular communications with country partners, other program stakeholders, as well as a general audience – with the goal of generating visibility for both awareness and potential for additional funding, for the individual programs as well as for RVP more generally.
  • The Communications Specialist will work with Program Leadership in the identification of short-term and long- term goals and will implement activities related to website design and content, partner newsletters, translating Monitoring & Evaluation outputs into case studies and other user-friendly, readable documents and products, monitoring media and possible outreach to journalists.
  • The Communications Specialist will also support development of infographics and assist in preparation of reports, presentations, scientific abstracts and manuscripts.
  • The Communications Specialist will work closely on day-to-day priorities and long-term projects in collaboration with the Associate Director and Program Leadership.

Specific activities and roles may include:

  • Assisting in management of website content (news posts, blog posts, keeping all pages up to date) and
    development of standard operating procedures for website upkeep for both www.taskforce.org/covip
    and www.pivipartners.org
  • Developing promotional and informational materials for both programs.
  • Developing infographics and other graphics for social media, reports, and presentations
  • Collating news and program updates
  • Assisting in editing reports, scientific abstracts and manuscripts, and grants
  • Responding to related media (e.g. Letters to the Editor, etc.)
  • Performing other related responsibilities as assigned




Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.



  • Excellent professional and technical writing skills
  • Experience with WordPress / Elementor
  • Experience with graphic design programs, such as InDesign, Canva, and/or Illustrator
  • Experience with press outreach
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively
  • Proven ability to synthesize information to develop clear communications on highly technical subjects
    for a variety of target audiences.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work.  Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
