The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education (ACPE, Inc.) is a multicultural, multi-faith organization devoted to providing education and improving the quality of ministry and pastoral care offered by spiritual caregivers of all faiths through the clinical educational methods of Clinical Pastoral Education. ACPE is nationally recognized as an accrediting agency in the field of clinical pastoral education by the U.S. Secretary of Education through the U.S. Department of Education.

ACPE, Inc., an Affiliate of Emory University, seeks a Communications & Meetings Specialist of the Association.  This is a full time, permanent position.  This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.  This role is primarily a remote position, with some expectations of travel or reporting to a work location.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Consults with management and staff to design, develop and maintain a website.
  • Develops, writes and edits various communications materials including correspondence, newsletters, brochures and articles.
  • Develops and maintains effective methods for distributing communication materials and information.
  • Maintains required record-keeping and documentation.
  • May train staff in the use of communications technology.
  • May utilize various aspects of social media to accomplish work objectives.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: 

The Communications and Meetings Specialist provides direct support for all communications and meeting functions and activities of ACPE. As a member of a small team, the person in the position must work well in team functions and independently, must be creative and initiate activities while also anticipating and responding to the support needs of managers and the executive director. ACPE, Inc. is an affiliate of Emory University for Human Resources.  Each employee/position makes a critical contribution to the operations of the Association.  Staff members must demonstrate commitment to their role, as well as in the support and enhancement of the work of the organization.   While ACPE is an independent organization, incorporated in the state of Georgia, our employees are hired and employed through the University.  The Association strictly adheres to Emory University policies for the employment, health and safety of our employees.   

 

Communications Support:

  • Consults with management and staff to design, develop, and maintain the website.
  • Develops, writes and edits various communications materials including correspondence, newsletters, brochures and articles.
  • Coordinates web advertising by invoicing and updating the website.
  • Assist Director of Communications with board and leadership communications.
  • Provide photography and video support at conferences, events, and/or as needed.
  • Assist with technology management for office and conference staff.
  • Maintain and update social media.

Meetings Support:

  • Oversee meeting database functions prior to each conference/event.
  • Oversee meeting registration and logistics for special interest groups, including processing and posting of payments.
  • With the Business & Events Manager, create meeting registration packets, including confirmations, continuing education certificates, leadership/participant badges, evaluations, etc.
  • As needed, assist in site planning and preparation.
  • Participate in on-site staffing as needed at events.
  • Oversee meeting follow-up, including but not limited to summarizing and providing initial analysis of evaluations, media sales and purchase/order fulfillment, billing, registration refunds, and collections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
