Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Works independently to provide functional analysis and then design and implement technical solutions.
  • Consults with appropriate staff to develop requirements and specifications for enterprise applications.
  • Implements developed applications and provides customer support.
  • Consults with customers to understand business problems and develops technical solutions.
  • Provides technical expertise on applications, technical tools and software.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems resulting from vendor fixes and upgrades.
  • May lead small projects and resolve software or business-related problems.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Pathways Center departments and Emory enterprise IT.
  • Supports and oversees the implementation of new software and technology integration and serves as the liaison for the academic departments, programs and alumni services.
  • Serve as relationship manager for vendors and technology partners.
  • Duties include facilitating installations, training, supporting business continuity procedures, and strategy development.
  • Reports regularly to the Vice Provost with reporting information, enterprise solutions, key improvement indicators, and escalation of service delivery issues as needed.
  • Ensures software solutions maintenance requirements are completed and provides recommendations on new technology and software needs.
  • Provides software support to and education for all units within Pathways Center.
  • Responsible for participating in industry relevant training, conferences and professional organizations to ensure center is abreast of current technology trends, software and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten years of information technology experience which includes experience in the application of vendor software fixes and upgrades OR a bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or directly related field and eight years of experience which includes experience in the application of vendor software fixes and upgrades.
  • Positions in this classification may require knowledge of one or more programming languages and/or a knowledge of an application and application tools.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with higher education software systems and technology is a plus.
  • Project management and/or application management skills preferred.
  • Data integration and digital communication experience preferred.
  • Comfortable developing training documentation and conducting user training modules or manuals.
  • Experience with Slate, Handshake, Canvas, PeopleSoft, Terra Dotta, Salesforce and Microsoft 365.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work.  Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
