The Business Manager will coordinate closely with the U.S. investigators, study team members, and grants, finance and HR units located at various schools within Emory and other domestic institutions, as well as with international collaborators, to provide grants management and human resources support to all aspects of our team’s projects. She / he will be responsible for the following activities. For the GFDx: - Lead the incorporation of micronutrient availability data, based on Food Balance Sheet information, into the GFDx database for up to 196 countries and 29 micronutrients.  - Lead the incorporation of micronutrient intake data, based on the FAO GIFT project, into the GFDx database for up to 196 countries and 29 micronutrients. - Review data related to cereal grain fortification and address related queries that may arise on GFDx.  - Provide communications support and expertise when requested by the GFDx communications coordinator.  - Conduct and/or oversee research leading to the development of at least two reports or scientific papers based on the GFDx data.  - Participate in a scientific conference where GFDx products will be disseminated.  - Participate in regular GFDx Core Group meetings to plan, review, and provide updates on project activities.  - Support preparations and participate in grant update calls with donor.  - Review and provide input to all donor deliverables related to this project. - Supervise graduate students to support the above activities. For AFFORD: - Support the design, implementation, quality control, analysis and dissemination of market assessment of fortified food in Madagascar and Zambia.   - Support the development of deliverables to the donor and other activities related to knowledge management. The Epidemiologist will contribute 100% effort (total) for 24 months on these projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - A doctoral degree in a field related to area of research or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. International travel required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - PhD in nutrition or closely related field. - Professional experience in addressing micronutrient deficiencies, food-based approaches to reduce micronutrient malnutrition, and both qualitative and quantitative research. - Advanced epidemiologic and biostatistics skills. - Experience with using SAS, R, Stata, and MAXQDA. - Experience leading projects and providing technical support to projects in low- and middle-income countries.   - Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills.  - Proven track record of publishing in both peer-review and grey literature. - Experience working on policy development. - Experience supervising and mentoring junior colleagues. - Fluency in English (spoken and written) and at least one other United Nations language. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:  The Computational Neuroethology lab at Emory University seeks a research-oriented post- baccalaureate fellow to assist with experiments using rodents to study how the brain processes and learns social sensory information. We will train the fellow to perform rodent surgeries and histology, and conduct behavioral studies as well as opto-/chemo-genetic stimulation and electrophysiological recordings in awake mice and prairie voles, working with graduate students, postdocs and the principal investigator. Potential areas for individual growth and development include learning about social and sensory neuroscience research, better experimental design and computational analyses of data; contributions can merit inclusion on publications.   NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option.
