THIS POSITION IS ON THE OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, 36 MILES EAST OF ATLANTA.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Under the direct supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, consults, when appropriate, with the Director of Student Health.
  • Coordinates the delivery of sports medicine services to all varsity athletes.
  • Oversees all athletic training needs for nine intercollegiate teams.
  • Obtains medical pre-clearance information from all freshmen and transfer student athletes; ensures pre-season physical exams are completed.
  • Educates coaches, athletes and parents on injury prevention techniques.
  • Develops and implements emergency action plans.
  • Assesses varsity and non-varsity injuries and refers athletes for appropriate treatment.
  • Coordinates the management of documentation and obtaining of medical records with the Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Coordinates communication with athletes, coaches, parents and physicians.
  • Observes assessments conducted by physicians, as appropriate.
  • Refers athletes to outside specialists when necessary.
  • Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with the management of the varsity athletic injury insurance account and with the inventory and purchasing of athletic training supplies; coordinates medical coverage for varsity practices and competitions.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, NATA and NCAA/NJCAA medical recommendations and guidelines.
  • Manages the development and implementation of treatment and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Attends all home varsity games.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A master's degree and NATABOC preferred; eligible for State of Georgia license.
  • Three years of related experience preferred, including administrative/management experience.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
