KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Patgiri lab at Emory University in Atlanta (https://patgirilab.org/) is seeking a motivated soon-to-be (graduating in 2024) or recent graduate to join our lab as a full-time Postbaccalaureate research technician/specialist. This is a great opportunity to gain research experience to prepare for Ph.D., MD, or MD/Ph.D. programs.
The Patgiri lab develops potential therapies for mitochondrial and other metabolic diseases (see example https://www.nature.com/articles/s41587-019-0377-7). The candidate will have the opportunity to learn mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein purification, molecular biology (cloning, CRISPR gene editing, etc.), and basic mouse experiments. The candidate will be also able to learn cutting-edge liquid-chromatography mass spectrometry (LCMS)-based metabolomics on our lab’s Agilent 6546 QTOF high-resolution LCMS. Lastly, the candidate will have the opportunity to present at scientific conferences and earn authorship in publications.
