SUMMARY:

 

Patrols facilities and property making observations to prevent or detect unauthorized persons or activities and unsafe conditions. Maintains visibility to deter criminal activity, reports violations to law enforcement personnel. May administer first aid or CPR in emergency situations. Follows organizational guidelines in reporting security related information and responsible to perform shift Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as applicable. Required to work varying shifts and may be required to work some overtime.

 

FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Patrols facilities and property making observations to detect unauthorized persons or activities and unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains visibility to deter criminal activity; reports minor violations to police or other law enforcement personnel.
  • Provides restraint under lawful direction and may administer first aid or CPR in emergency situations.
  • Follows organizational guidelines in reporting security- related information.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of military or security experience.
  • Able to exercise physical restraint.
  • May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Work schedule is as follows: Midnight shift, Wednesday night - Saturday night, 11:00 pm to 9:00 am.

NOTE: All non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia.  Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
