SUMMARY:
The Program Associate assists in organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of the Rule of Law Program’s projects. Works with relevant headquarters, country office staff, consultants, and external experts to achieve project goals. Conducts research and gathers accurate information to develop publications. May write, develop, or contribute to project and budget documents, reports, speeches, briefings, newsletters, promotional materials, grants, or other written materials related to the program. Prepares operational reports to assist in effective decision-making. Manages relevant budgeting, grant and sub-grants, accounting, and program files. Monitors expenditures and may prepare financial reports. Provides administrative support, and assists in handling logistics for meetings, conferences, and travel. May supervise interns and volunteers. Provides guidance and training to Program Assistants. Performs related responsibilities as required. May include occasional travel. Due to the travel requirement, Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) will be required.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines. All non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia. The Carter Center reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
