KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides travel consultations to students based on established protocols and guidelines; administers immunizations according to student requirements and public health recommendations; coordinates and implements off-site immunization sessions for selected student populations; coordinates group travel presentations offsite; administers allergy injections per student's allergist orders.
  • Coordinates Emory University Student Health Services (EUSHS) staff immunization compliance. Works cooperatively and productively in a multi-disciplinary organization, which includes primary care, mental health, and other health and wellness programs.
  • Serves on quality improvement committee and participates in developing and analyzing QI projects, assists in developing clinic policies and procedures related to travel and immunization and allergy; assists in the oversight of the immunization compliance team.
  • Monitors vaccine supplies, currency and supplies of vaccine information materials. Oversees Directly Observed Therapy for tuberculosis prophylaxis.
  • Serves as a resource to other staff concerning travel and immunization concerns. Maintains familiarity with evolving recommendations concerning immunization and traveler's health. Documents all services in electronic medical record.
  • As needed, performs other routine nursing duties including but not limited to: triaging patients, assisting clinicians in exams, performing routine lab tests, administering IV fluids, performing EKGs and participating in late day rotations and Saturday clinics as assigned. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. Two years of experience practicing as an RN. A BSN is preferred.
  • Experience in a Travel and Immunization Clinic setting required.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
