Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide telephone triage services for the Georgia Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program at Emory.
  • Report abnormal dried blood spot screening results to the appropriate health care providers and make the necessary follow-up recommendations.
  • Following the completion of on-site training that covers the specifics of each disease on the screening panel and the follow-up protocols, the employee must have the ability to interpret individual test results, incorporate other pertinent information and make appropriate recommendations.
  • May require knowledge of caring for critically ill infants.
  • Ability to contact health care providers and families by telephone or email.
  • Serve as a resource for colleagues, assist with decision making and strategies for problem solving in day to day tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, licensed as an RN by the state of Georgia and two years of clinical experience
  • OR Graduation from an accredited LPN program, licensed as an LPN by the State of Georgia and six years of clinical experience
  • OR Bachelor's degree in related field, Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) by ABGC and two years of related experience
  • Basic computer skills

NOTE: Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional visits to an Emory University location. This position requires you to reside in the State of Georgia.
