Description

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, Staff Development & Training, this position will support the Vice President of Campus Life in the planning and execution of projects and will also have responsibility for handling administrative tasks.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and provides project management support for a variety of projects which may involve financial administration, compiling and reviewing metrics, the upgrade of software systems, etc.
  • Develops and manages project time lines.
  • Works closely with project team/departments to identify and resolve concerns.
  • Assumes responsibility for timely delivery of project deliverables as scheduled.
  • Develops and maintains databases and reports.
  • Designs presentations in support of department's needs.
  • Tracks departmental budgets and forecasts future budget needs.
  • May plan and coordinates special events.
  • May maintain and update the departmental website.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Makes recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of projects and/or business processes.
  • Oversees office operations and ensures office activities comply with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates, attends, prepares materials for, and/or takes minutes at meetings.
  • Oversees and assists with communication VP of Campus Life. (i.e., annual reports, main email account, website updates, and other correspondence)
  • Coordinates student staffing to serve as main greeters to the physical office suite via in person and/or phone calls.
  • Coordinate logistics for VP of Campus Life operations and projects, including procurement, travel, expense reconciliations.
  • Coordinates and takes a leading role in organizing and planning office-wide events and special projects.
  • Keep current on industry best practices and technological innovations related to the position and notify management of opportunities and makes recommendations on process improvements.
  • Attend and participate in department and division meetings.
  • As a member of the HR/Administration team, support division wide event planning and logistics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and three years of project, financial and/or administrative management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Access.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four years of project management, financial and/or administrative management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills – including Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications.
  • Excellent Communicator – both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a diverse and fluid work environment.
  • Maintains high personal standards in behavior, appearance, and attitude.
  • Demonstrates professional and appropriate relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners.
  • Experience in effectively managing and prioritizing multiple assignments and tasks.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities
  • Self-motivated and able to create internal work plans and timelines.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
