Description

This position of Admissions Analyst, plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to the Assistant Director of Operations and Communications, the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, and the Candler community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing, managing, and maintaining the admission office’s database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data is readily accessible, generating reports, and utilizing the database to extract valuable insights and information for strategic and tactical purposes. Furthermore, this position will lead in instructing Candler personnel on the effective use of Slate by Technolutions, a higher education CRM.


Beyond Slate management and instruction, this role will also contribute to the smooth operation of the admissions office by assisting in various tasks. This may include organizing events, coordinating admissions-related communications, supporting applicant interviews or visits, and collaborating with other departments or external partners as necessary.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the admissions process and maintenance of admissions, statistical, demographic and business records and data to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Manages data testing process and ensures accurate data is maintained.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the admissions process including, but not limited to, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or a related system.
  • Leads efforts to identify and implement new processes or process improvements to maximize efficiency and to provide accurate, timely, and customer-focused responses to inquiries.
  • Uses data from enrollment management and related systems to advance the admissions strategy in driving prospects to complete the application process.
  • Completes extensive data analysis to review prospect trends and make recommendations.
  • Assists in training new users on systems and implementing new initiatives in the enrollment management or related system.
  • Designs, generates, and analyzes reports.
  • Assists with recruitment and other student services projects and activities as needed.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

Enhance Data Accessibility and Usefulness:

  • Analyze data and develop solutions to improve data accessibility and usefulness
  • Generate insightful reports
  • Manage Slate, OPUS (Emory's Student Information System), and other systems for data accuracy and security
  • Implement and maintain Slate functionality, including forms, events, imports, mailings, and rules
  • Support Assistant Director of Operations and Communications and Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid with data analysis and projections

Train and Support Personnel:

  • Conduct training and provide ongoing support to Candler personnel for effective Slate usage
  • Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions in Slate
  • Collaborate with teammates to facilitate smooth application, event registration, and communication processes
  • Develop and maintain data security policies and procedures
  • Provide backup support to admissions office staff as needed

Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Assist stakeholders via front desk interactions, phone calls, and emails
  • Manage user-side admissions interfaces, including admitted student checklists
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations for conferences and events for guests and students

Address Systems and Infrastructure Needs:

  • Stay updated on technology advances and maintain current computer skills
  • Pull budget and transaction reports from Emory's financial systems
  • Process and track travel, expense reports, payment requests, and Candler sponsorships
  • Assist Associate Director of Financial Aid and Admissions in external scholarship processing and supporting students navigating Emory’s financial aid ecosystem
  • Manage supplies and equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of admissions, academic services, data management or analysis, web development, training or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with sorting, advanced filtering and some knowledge of queries.
  • A basic knowledge of website development or maintenance applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Slate by Technolutions and/or customer relationship management software.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
