The Operation & Maintenance Department within the Emory National Primate Research Center at Emory University is currently seeking a Steam Distribution Mechanic to join our team. The Operation & Maintenance team maintains the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities which include electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. We are responsible for operating and maintaining specific equipment, preventive maintenance activities, responding to customer needs, and repairing equipment. We rapidly and appropriately respond to emergency events such as leaks, floods, power outages, or any other situation which could adversely affect humans, animals, and/or research at the Center. This can include responding quickly and appropriately to remote notification alarms including animal housing temperature, pressure, and humidity alarms, laboratory freezer alarms, and other space condition and equipment status alarms.
The ideal candidate should be motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude and passion for research. The Facilities Maintenance Tech will be a team player who is willing to learn on the job and collaborate with co-workers and center members.
