Description

Performs routine, standardized building services within assigned building or area of Campus Life: Emory Student Center, Alumni University Center, Campus Life Pavilion, and Cox Hall.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides building services within assigned area which normally include emptying of trash receptacles, dusting, spot cleaning, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, and food service areas (front of house and back of house), restocking supplies, dust, damp or wet mopping; sweeping and vacuuming.
  • Operates and maintains power equipment which may include carpet vacuums, canister and tank vacuums, wide-area vacuums, backpack vacuums, spot cleaning machines, and other powered equipment.
  • Maintains building/storage closets, tools, and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
  • Utilizes prescribed safety equipment as required.
  • Utilizes chemicals and supplies in a safe and prescribed manner.
  • Responds to work requests from building operations and the department's service request system.
  • On occasion, may be responsible for ballroom and meeting room setups, and audio/visual support.
  • Typical setups activities include setting tables, chairs, and miscellaneous support items order from Emory's staging department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and one year of related experience.
  • This job requires basic skills in delivery of building services including operation of cleaning equipment and use of cleaning supplies.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • This role may require shift work and weekend work.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
