The Tirouvanziam Lab at the Emory University Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep (PACS) is recruiting a laboratory research manager to oversee its operations on multiple projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises staff (generally ten or more employees) in a large and/or complex research laboratory.
• Responsible for administrative, financial, staffing and planning aspects of research.
• Designs instrumentation, theoretical models, equipment and other vehicles for data gathering and analysis.
• Designs and applies scientific and numerical models in research.
• Oversees development and integrity of data collection and instruments.
• Conducts on-going, periodic and final analyses of data, using specialized techniques and programming.
• Writes and collaborates with other researchers on manuscripts, abstracts and other publications of research findings.
• Collaborates with other researchers on long-range plan for overall research.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor's degree in a scientific field; related master's degree preferred.
• Five years of professional research experience.
• Three years of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALICATIONS:

• Trained in mammalian cell culture, including human lung epithelial air-liquid interface (ALI) models.
• Trained and certified in phlebotomy.
• Trained in green laboratory methods.
• Trained in international shipment of biological samples.
  Experienced in omics methods (e.g., microarrays, sequencing).
• Four+ years of experience in supervising a team of more than 10 people.
• Four+ years of experience managing international collaborations.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
