Description

The Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Consortium (IDCRC) is a cooperative agreement supported by NIH/NIAID and provides a fast-paced, dynamic environment that engages multiple institutions in a nationwide consortium, www.IDCRC.org. This position will work work to support the Leadership Operations Center (LOC) and Clinical Operations Unit (COU) of the Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Consortium Leadership Group (LG). IDCRC is a NIH award to support the planning and implementation of clinical research that addresses the scientific priorities of NIAID in evaluating vaccines, other preventive biologics, therapeutics, diagnostics, including prognostics and predictive markers, and devices or the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases (malaria/neglected tropical diseases, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections, and enteric diseases).


As part of the management team, collaborates with senior leadership to manage and execute special projects and to provide business support related to budget and finance and general operations. Attends meetings with leadership, develops and manages work plans, and ensures or facilitates appropriate follow up. Collaborates with others to facilitate projects and ensure timelines and action plans are accomplished. Prepares and assists in general network operations, including participating in various study oversight activities and overseeing communications like press releases and newsletters. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Directs special projects for a non-central division or department.
  • Manages the strategic planning process and oversees progress toward achieving project goals.
  • Develops and administers project budgets.
  • Participates in the identification of funding sources, initiatives and strategies.
  • Prepares communication documents for articles, reports, and/or presentations.
  • Develops short and long term project goals and objectives.
  • Represents and promotes projects at speaking engagements and with various constituencies.
  • Conducts research, analyzes data and identifies and summarizes trends.
  • Develops and prepares reports.
  • Serves as a liaison with other university departments and represents projects at meetings and events. May hire, supervise and evaluate staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and five years of project management or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficiency with various computer software packages.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
