Description

In this role, the part-time Academic Services Coordinator will 1.provide programmatic and logistical support to the Director of Undergraduate Research for the department’s experiential learning offerings, which include early career and senior capstone courses for applied research, Honor’s Program, and co-curricular offerings such as methods training workshops, internships, and fellowships; 2. coordinate student-facing department events; and 3.manage the department’s virtual Prep through Pro community including content development, alumni placement records updates, student opportunity archives, and supervision of staff or student employees assisting with content entry.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in coordinating one or more student academic functions for a school or program such as admissions, financial aid, registration or student placement.
  • Assists and advises students.
  • May maintain budget records and assist in budget administration.
  • Assists in preparing communication materials about a school or program.
  • Actively participates in committees pertaining to academic services.
  • Maintains and updates students' records in organized filing system and compiles reports from this.
  • May develop resources for students to address particular needs.
  • May supervise clerical personnel.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in the school's or program's area of specialty or a related field and one year of experience in student admissions, registration, financial aid or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Previous experience with various personal computer software applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to data science or previous experience with quantitative methods is highly desirable.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
