The Associate Director of Financial Aid and Admissions oversees Candler’s scholarship program, including the administration of approximately $7 million annually from over 180 scholarship accounts and nearly $1 million in external scholarship funds. The Associate Director advises current and prospective students regarding the financial aid process and engages in financial literacy, budget preparation, and debt management conversations with Candler’s student body.
This role involves maintaining student financial records with a priority on confidentiality. The Associate Director works closely with the University’s Office of Financial Aid to award scholarships, assist students in understanding their accounts and bills, and help students secure loans.
The Associate Director prepares the financial aid budget for annual approval, produce statistical reports throughout the academic year, and reconciles accounts at the end of the fiscal year.
Additionally, the Associate Director contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of recruitment strategies. This includes administration of the admissions CRM system (Slate), the scholarship awarding platforms (Academic Works and PeopleSoft), and planning of recruitment and yield events across various formats (on-campus, off-campus, and online).
This role also plays a critical part in stewardship, ensuring scholarship donors are matched with recipients according to specifications and that proper communications, such as letters of thanks, are managed. The Associate Director will work closely with the Advancement Office and other departments to manage this process.
The Associate Director reports to the Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and works collaboratively with the Dean, Chief Business Officer, and other key stakeholders across Candler and Emory University.
