JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

** This position is located in the central Office of Sponsored Programs **

  • Provides assistance to faculty and staff in processing routine proposals, subawards and extensions and amendments to awarded research projects.
  • Prepares routine Notices of Acceptance.
  • Handles routine correspondence related to proposals and awarded projects.
  • Facilitates and tracks internal and external document execution.
  • Coordinates correspondence and follow-up with internal departments and external agencies or sponsors regarding outstanding issues.
  • Oversees the close-out process for routine projects and related files and database entries.
  • Answers questions and provides assistance to university faculty and staff regarding Office of Sponsored Programs processes, policies and procedures for routine proposal submissions.
  • Tracks and ensures research contracts and agreements are sent to and received by appropriate individuals.
  • Issues and monitors routine subawards to various institutions using existing subaward templates.
  • Assists in the preparation of material for workshops, seminars and training sessions.
  • Provides assistance to Associate and Senior Sponsored Research Analysts and Assistant and Associate Directors as needed.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some college and 1 year experience in research administration, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, training and/or certifications.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
