Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.
The Suthar laboratory within the Emory Vaccine Center (EVC) at the Emory National Primate Research Center (EPC), is seeking a full time Assistant Academic Research Scientist to join our lab.
The Suthar laboratory studies immunity to emerging viral infections. We use in vitro and in vivo models to understand the host and viral factors that control immunity and infection outcome. This position will directly involve supporting ongoing research efforts to characterize vaccine formulations, evaluate immune responses in humans and mice, and determine protection against viral infection. For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative, productive and energetic individual who can assist with laboratory assays, cell culture, molecular biology, and various immune assays (ELISAs, flow cytometry, Mesoscale Discovery, B cell analysis). This position requires the ability to lead a project, analyze data and help with writing papers. Previous laboratory experience is desired (2-5 years’ experience), will need to work with mice, and BSL3/ABSL3 experience is preferred but not required.
Collaborate. Innovate. Serve. These three simple words capture what we do at EPC to help advance science and improve the health and well-being of humans and non-human primates. If you are someone with laboratory research experience who is familiar with virology and immunology this is an amazing opportunity to indirectly save and change lives and make a positive impact in the science and research community.
Dedicated to discovering causes, preventions, treatments, and cures of disease, EPC is improving human and animal health and lives worldwide. One of seven National Primate Research Centers (NPRCs) funded by the NIH, EPC conducts studies that make breakthrough discoveries possible. Learn more at http://enprc.emory.edu
