KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of program.
  • Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.
  • Represents the program in various national and international fora.
  • Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Associate Director, Programs will serve as Project Manager/Project Director on a large, 5-year cooperative agreement funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The AD/P will ideally have advanced experience with the USG-funded grants, reporting, budgetary experience, and IRB. Experience with epidemiologic data analysis is preferred. Expertise in donor reporting, scientific writing, and project management will be essential skills for success in this role.
Responsibilities include overall project management (developing, implementing, and overseeing project scope, budget, and timelines), meeting coordination and related communications, partner and stakeholder engagement and oversight, donor reporting, and oversight of dissemination activities. 
Position is based in Atlanta with a hybrid work schedule possible (see ‘Note’).
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Directs and administers the strategic planning, development, and implementation of a program
  • Oversees and coordinates program planning, development, and operations, acting as lead and liaison between donor partners, academic partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Provides logistical and administrative oversight for grant and all funded activities. 
  • Serves as front-line representative to donor partners.
  • Leads development of and submission of all grant deliverables and reports.
  • Helps set goals and milestones, supports performance monitoring through regular engagement in projects.  
  • Manages budgets and spenddown.
  • Prepares and submits quarterly progress reports, ensuring timely progress on projects and deliverables. 
  • Ensures compliance with Notice of Award. 
  • Represents the program as needed, oversees communication efforts, and contributes to scientific publications. 
  • Engages with local partners and stakeholders to advance dissemination of project findings. 
  • Supervises (may be formal or informal) program staff.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and five years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Master's degree preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field and five years of professional experience related to the program
  • Previous supervisory and program/project management experience
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Quantitative data analysis experience: epidemiological, modeling, and/or cost analysis 
  • Experience administering USG grant(s)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, superior communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work remotely but must be able to commute to Rollins School of Public Health (Emory University campus) on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Hybrid/remote schedule must be approved by supervisor.  All non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia.
