A full-time Senior Research Specialist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Peijian He at the Emory University Department of Medicine. We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to help investigate the mechanisms of mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and cell death in the pathogenesis of liver diseases.
The lab utilizes mouse models (genetically modified and diet induced disease models), cultured cells (cell line and primary cells), and performs immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent staining, Western blotting, qPCR, live cell imaging, and cell death analysis. The candidate is expected to support general laboratory needs, including the management of mouse colony, genotyping, tissue sectioning and staining, cell culture, and RNA/protein expression analysis. Preference will be given to individuals who have extensive experience in mouse handling and strong research background in molecular and cell biology.
