Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides general nursing care for adolescent, young adult and adult patients.
  • Ensures efficient patient flow through the clinic and provides phone consultation with patients.
  • May triage patients according to the nature of the patient's complaint and the availability of clinicians.
  • Under the instruction of a medical doctor, performs certain laboratory tests ordered by clinicians.
  • Administers medications, provides wound care, maintains emergency carts, starts IVs, maintains medical supplies, and organizes and re-stocks treatment rooms and labs.
  • May administer immunizations and determine whether or not a student is eligible to register for classes.
  • Coordinates or assists with special immunization campaigns.
  • Identifies patient problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
  • Reviews and maintains complete and accurate documentation related to the admission, care, transfer or discharge of the patient. Prepares charts for new patients.
  • Identifies and responds to patient educational needs.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
  • Two years of recent (within the past five years) nursing experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Completion of a physical assessment course or experience conducting physical assessments.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
