Description

The Product Manager is responsible for researching, defining, prioritizing, and documenting product requirements and user stories for new and existing application modules. This role supports feature enhancements aligned with customer needs, competitive offers, and overall business strategy. The Product Manager drives all phases of the product lifecycle and collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to deliver high-quality solutions. They serve as product experts and a key liaison between customers, internal teams, and vendors to ensure alignment and performance excellence.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Research, defines, and documents product requirements, user stories, and designs for enhancements and new features
  • Owns and manages assigned products throughout all stages of the product lifecycle
  • Prioritize inputs from internal and external stakeholders including customers, consultants, support, sales, and development teams Documents detailed requirements, mockups, and user stories on the internal Wiki to serve as a central resource for development, QA, and documentation teams
  • Communicates timelines, proposed solutions, and status updates to stakeholders
  • Delivers internal and external training on new product features and enhancements
  • Supports product demonstrations and speaking engagements as needed
  • Manages the defect resolution process, including requirements gathering, testing, communication, and project management
  • Monitors solution performance through customer satisfaction surveys and other metrics
  • Collaborates with IT and development teams to ensure solutions align with user needs and business goals
  • Maintains product backlogs and identifies product enhancements
  • Analyzes market trends and technology advancements to guide product strategy
  • Conceptualizes and plans new product features based on customer insight and market research
  • Contributes to strategic and operational planning within the solutions team
  • Manage vendor relationships to stay informed on third-party product roadmaps and upgrades
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field and three years of experience in product management, business analysis, business relationship management, or software development, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, databases, and application-layer technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence others, resolve conflicts, and lead a product delivery team
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Server Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business preferred

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
