Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine and moderately complex office tasks, including but not limited to, proofreading, editing and preparing correspondence, reports, manuscripts, and other documents; monitoring accounts; maintaining calendars and coordinating meetings and special events.
  • Reviews incoming correspondence and prepares outgoing correspondence for manager's review.
  • Creates and maintains databases and filing systems.
  • Answers phones and distributes mail.
  • Processes human resources and payroll transactions.
  • May maintain department financial/accounting records and monitor budget expenditures.
  • Orders and maintains office supplies.
  • May direct the work of support staff and/or students.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of clerical or secretarial experience.
  • Previous experience with various personal computer software applications.
  • Positions within this classification may require keyboarding skills or an advanced knowledge of medical terminology.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
