Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.
The Suthar laboratory within the Emory Vaccine Center at Emory University is currently seeking an Assistant Research Scientist with a background in bioinformatics, modeling, and machine learning to join our lab. Our research uses a multiscale approach to study the immune response to emerging/re-emerging viral infections. We study the dynamics of virus-host interactions with innate immune signaling pathways, define host response at the single cell level, characterize tissue-specific responses using animal models, and model the immune response across organisms (mice, hamsters, NHPs, and humans). For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative, and energetic individual that has expertise in analyzing data generated from multiome technologies (single cell RNAseq/ATAC-seq), spatial transcriptomics, and possibly BCR/TCR-sequencing.
The ideal candidate should be motivated, responsible, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude and works well with others. The Assistant Scientist should be a team player who is willing to learn on the job and collaborate with lab members and center members. The Assistant Scientist will work to ensure the highest quality of laboratory research support, and has good communication skills with co-workers, the management team, PI’s, research staff, students, and other support services.
Under minimal supervision, the Assistant Academic Research Scientist performs a wide range of highly technical and complex tasks necessary to advance basic and/or translational research programs.
