Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the day-to-day general Human Resources functions for Emory College of Arts and Sciences (ECAS), including supervision of three Senior Human Resources Associates team members.
  • Advises deans, chairs, and department managers on HR policies and procedures. Advises faculty and staff managers on employee relations issues.
  • Addresses employee relations matters and/or collaborate with central Employee Relations on issues including grievances, performance improvement plans, corrective discipline, terminations/RIFs, and reorganizations.
  • Oversees the exiting employee process. Collaborates in the development/coordination of Wellness, Awards and Recognition programming in the College.
  • Oversees onboarding and the new-hire process for staff. Approves staff salary offers made during the new-hire, rehire, and transfer hire process for staff. Leads or participates on interview panels for staff level positions.
  • Oversees the onboarding process for faculty. In collaboration with the Senior Director of ECAS Operations, coordinates and develops the annual staff merit process for the College including supporting analysis/reporting.
  • Assists with annual preparation of faculty merit process and monitoring of the faculty salaries. Oversees the merit entry process for faculty and staff.
  • Assist with coordinating and advising faculty and staff managers on staff reclassification, promotion, and equity review process each year.
  • Assists with new staff line requests and approval process each year. Reviews and approves salary adjustments due to reclassifications, promotions, and equity reviews in collaboration with HR Compensation and in context of available budgets.
  • Oversees the SRT additional pay process each summer. Oversees performance evaluation process each year for staff. Coordinates and facilitates bi-monthly ECAS Department Operations Meetings. Oversees the staff mentoring program. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, and six years of human resources experience encompassing multiple specialties, which includes managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Certification as a Senior Human Resources Professional is preferred.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
