Description

KEY RESPOMSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical expertise for developing new and maintaining existing middleware solutions for key enterprise systems and operational support of existing enterprise accounts to meet Emory's business needs and strategic goals.
  • Acts as an enterprise middleware subject matter expert to analyze and develop enterprise systems and integrate systems needs and solutions based on customers' needs, business requirements, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards.
  • Consults with customers to identify solutions to issues across multiple and disparate systems and to provide expertise to enterprise-wide departments for solving complex middleware issues.
  • Coaches and mentors junior middleware administrators to increase skill levels and to ensure service level agreement standards are met.
  • Manages vendor relationships to minimize for support services and improvement planning.
  • Provides 24 x 7 on-call support to ensure application functionality and to minimize disruptions.
  • Assists with department projects to support enterprise middleware initiatives and to meet business needs.
  • Researches current technologies to recommend new enterprise enhancements.
  • Develops services and applications to fulfill customer requests and meet business needs.
  • Performs maintenance to maintain middleware applications and to ensure application operability.
  • Maintains data integrations and monitors services and feeds to ensure stability.
  • Monitors applications and systems to develop performance metrics and to ensure high availability.
  • Develops middleware processes and procedures to provide guidance for maintaining applications consistency and quality control.
  • Develops middleware skills to provide leadership for mentoring middleware team members.
  • Maintains change process consistency to ensure thoroughness, validate accuracy and control of internal changes.
  • Acts as a middleware liaison for executive management to communicate and explain technical middleware infrastructure information.
  • Applies advanced enterprise middleware knowledge to support enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Drives root cause analyses to resolve ongoing issues and minimize service loss.
  • Researches industry-leading enterprise middleware applications and solutions to propose and pursue new ideas for the Emory enterprise. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in IT or related field and three years of IT experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
