Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

This project is a partnership between Emory Sports Performance And Research Center, Emory University, and the Arthur M Blank Family Foundation to promote healthy physical activity and sport through application of virtual reality technologies. This school-based program will help to develop innovative injury risk screening and sports performance tools to enhance engagement with youth across the state of Georgia, as well as provide educationalopportunities and resources for students interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, or healthcare. Our student facilitators are integral members of our team as they will be the hands-on facilitators of this program within their high school.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Gain familiarity with all aspects of the virtual reality hardware and software
  • Instruct new users to navigate the virtual reality environment
  • Update written documentation on how to use the virtual reality program and hardware
  • Develop and deploy streamlined testing procedures Implement the virtual reality program at area high schools
  • Document and help resolve technical issues
  • Document subject participation, compliance, and user experience
  • Collaborate with other WBL students, SPARC staff, teachers/coaches Lead engagement and generate excitement for the GIVES project within school environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a college or university offering a four-year degree.
  • Completion of freshman year or higher and in good academic standing.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • People skills – comfortable working with students with diverse interests and backgrounds
  • Understanding of/willingness to learn the virtual reality technology and equipment
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written, use of email and Microsoft software)
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
