Description

The Communication Coordinator plays an important role on the Graduate Admissions operations team at Goizueta Business School. This position supports key communications functions for Graduate Admissions.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates various communications activities for a division, school, department, or center.
  • Writes, edits, or develops various communications materials such as correspondence, newsletters, brochures, information packets and articles.
  • May keep targeted audiences abreast of key information by developing and maintaining a website.
  • May assist with or participate in various public relations activities.
  • Publicizes and participates in various special events.
  • May conduct tours.
  • Responds to public inquiries.
  • Develops and maintains effective methods for distributing communication materials and information.
  • May monitor information relevant to the organization, its mission, and operations.
  • Maintains required record-keeping and documentation and may monitor budget.
  • May utilize various aspects of social media to accomplish work objectives.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: 

  • Create and maintain Graduate Admissions email campaigns & SMS communications. 
  • Edit, proof, and maintain Graduate Admissions website content and presentation decks. 
  • Manage Slate applicant & admit portal content, and Slate event content. 
  • Support development, creation, and dissemination of video and social media content. 
  • Monitor communications trends and analytics to inform strategy. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, English, or a related field.
  • One year of related work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Has strong interpersonal skills, enjoys being a part of a team, and developing relationships.   
  • Adept at problem-solving with the ability to navigate a complex work environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail; interest in helping others complete processes and answer questions. 
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity. 
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Ability to initiate and follow-through with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.  
  • Proficient with the Microsoft suite including Outlook, Excel, Word Forms, OneDrive and PowerPoint. Preference for candidate with knowledge & experience with Slate (or another application management platform, customer database, or CRM), as well as experience working with a website CMS.  
  • Knowledge of Slate and Emory systems such as Emory Express, Compass, Trumba, 25Live, etc. 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
