Description

The Treatment, Research, and Expert Education (TREE) program at the Emory Global Health Institute (EGHI) is seeking candidates for a Business Manager position. TREE is dedicated to addressing health inequity globally through academic medical care, research, and training.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in coordinating, providing input for, monitoring and improving the human resources and business operational activities.
  • Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating a variety of activities and special projects affecting area's operations.
  • Coordinates or assists in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts of future budget requirements.
  • May ensure that awarded grants conform to defined budget parameters.
  • Negotiates new and renewal contracts with vendors.
  • Directs logistical and clerical support activities, and coordinates specific data collection efforts and special projects.
  • Designs and generates reports.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Arranges domestic and international travel for TREE Director as well as program PIs, co-investigators, and trainees as needed.
  • Hosts TREE visitors and trainees and schedule meetings and prepare notes as needed.
  • Coordinates the INSPIRE summer program.
  • Assists in the processing of subawards and payments to foreign or domestic partners.
  • Submits expense reports and payment requests.
  • Monitors expenditures and participates in budget planning and the preparation of financial reports.
  • Designs and generates Excel spreadsheets, financial reports and budget justifications for grant proposals and to meet donor reporting requirements.
  • May assist in identifying funding opportunities and developing fundraising strategies and initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field and three years of professional business or management experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Some positions in this classification may require previous supervisory experience.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University locationRemote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
