Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of program.
  • Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.
  • Represents the program in various national and international fora.
  • Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and five years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Master's degree preferred.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Serve as part of Schwartz Center for Performing Arts' leadership team, with critical
oversight of event production, venue and building schedule, and facilities operations.

PRODUCTION

  • Coordinates with external agencies, arts faculty and rental clients about requirements for performances, ceremonies and events
  • Fulfills contracted specific items for guest artists
  • Supervises Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Technical Coordinator
  • Works with SCPA Administration to approve and execute contract riders for guest artists
  • Arranges hotel, local ground transportation, catering, and backstage hospitality for guest artists
  • Performs specific tasks as required for guest artist, rental, and special events
  • Arranges & coordinates additional services from University departments as needed for
    events
  • Schedules & facilitates production meetings with rental clients
  • Consult with Music faculty about major ensemble events and students about recitals
  • Facilitates SCPA production meetings
  • Supervises scheduling & setup of SCPA outreach & special events

SCHEDULE

  • In coordination with Managing Director and Music Department faculty, creates and manages the annual event schedule for over 100 annual Emory and external arts events for up to three years in advance
  • Coordinates across multiple departments with faculty members on scheduling and use of the space
  • Manage shared SCPA online production calendar
  • Schedules SCPA concert hall, rehearsal hall, conference room, lobbies, Dance Studio
    events
  • Collects & enters detailed production information into online calendar
  • Compiles events planning calendar for 2 seasons away
  • Facilitates semi-annual calendar planning meetings for next season with SCPA & PAS staff and Music Faculty
  • Schedules artist affiliate faculty & junior/senior student recitals
  • Schedules regular curricular and rental rehearsals and coordinates with Music faculty about aberrations
  • Compiles roster of annual events for use in scheduling services and creation of season
    brochure
  • Proofreads annual printed materials for events presents in SCPA concert hall

OPERATIONS

  • Oversees facility and equipment maintenance and upgrades as well as major projects
  • Supervises Operations Assistant
  • Represents SCPA interests and building projects on a university level by participating on key campus meetings and committees

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least five years experience working in event production in a performing arts or theater setting.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee
