Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible for the management of the lifecycle of research data related to one or multiple labs and their associated research studies.
  • Plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and quality of data used in research.
  • Liaise between the research team and the broader data manager community to stay abreast of policies and available resources and provides feedback.
  • Designs databases to collect, access, track, store, and manage research data.
  • Applies data validation techniques to ensure data collection accuracy and completeness based on pre-defined rules and standards.
  • Performs data cleaning tasks to identify and rectify inconsistencies, missing values, and formatting errors in datasets.
  • Documents data cleaning and validation procedures for future reference and reproducibility.
  • Prepares and distributes data visualizations and reports for regular monitoring of data collection protocols.
  • Integrates data collected across multiple sources and assessing for completeness and potential data collection issues.
  • Works closely with research team personnel collecting data to maximize efficiency and minimize errors through improved processes, data interfaces.
  • Assists with creating research datasets, for analysis and for distribution.
  • Creates procedures to identify potential data problems and communicates with research teams to resolve data problems prior to analysis.
  • Perform other related duties as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience working on a research team with responsibilities associated with data.
  • Must have a strong understanding of data management and data quality practices as well as research compliance and data security requirements.
  • Must show an appropriate skill set in managing and creating research databases.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University locationRemote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
