Description

This is a temporary position, not to exceed 12 months.

 

As an Emergency Management Specialist in the Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), assists with disaster exercise planning and implementation. Supports operations for Emory Emergency Medical Services (EMS), comprised of a large number of Emory students.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with operating units to ensure required documentation is entered in systems to maintain business continuity plans.
  • Provides guidance to department leadership and students to enhance services provided by CEPAR.
  • Ensures all activities are in compliance with state and national standards, rules, regulations and practices.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Performs other duties as specified.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Emergency Management, Nursing or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • NREMT Certification as an Advanced EMT with Georgia licensure as an Advanced EMT.
  • Emory EMS Alumni with an understanding of the student EMS program.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Certification as a BLS CPR Instructor.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
