Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a resource for the Office of the University Registrar and university departments to analyze and report on student related data such as personal information, enrollment history, and student participation.
  • Provides data in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy; keeps the requestor informed of the status of requests.
  • Adheres to university policies and federal law regarding data storage, confidentiality, and FERPA compliance.
  • Develops and maintains reports using tools such as: PeopleSoft Query, Oracle BI Publisher, and Excel.
  • Presents data in reports, pivot tables, or dashboard formats.
  • Documents methods and maintains standard documentation artifacts including data dictionaries, standard operating procedures, and analysis methodology descriptions.
  • Maintains data quality by documenting data standards, implementing and scheduling diagnostic queries, and coordinating resolution of data quality issues.
  • Manages NSC/NSLDS reporting and supports university responses to state and federal surveys such as NPSAS, IPEDS, and ARCHE.
  • Provides written documentation to explain the outcome of requests, and documents the criteria used.
  • Ensures conclusions are correct and meaningful; reviews and verifies results before sharing with requestor.
  • As a consultant to departments, provides insight into the data from a broad organizational perspective.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and three years of experience with data analytics, modeling, and report development OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with relational database management systems such as, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, OBIEE, and Oracle SQL preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
