Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the university's Research Security Program in collaboration with key stakeholders, including Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (RCRA), Export Controls, Office of Contracts and Grants, and Office of Information Security.
  • Ensures alignment with federal regulations and legislative mandates governing both restricted and fundamental research activities.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination of compliance requirements related to national security research with external collaborators, ensuring clarity and consistency in expectations for both restricted and fundamental research projects.
  • Identifies, mitigates, and resolves research compliance concerns by working closely with Research Administration offices and Principal Investigators (PIs).
  • Provides expert guidance to ensure adherence to applicable policies and regulations.
  • Manages administrative functions of the Research Security Program, including logging and tracking risk assessments, compiling supporting documentation, and generating metrics and reports to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Contributes to training, outreach, and policy development efforts by supporting the Office of Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs in updating web content, preparing presentations, and developing educational materials for faculty and staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field to specified program areas and at least two years of related research security or research compliance experience.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
