JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Grad Gen Coordinator administers the K-12 Outreach and Graduation Generation program. Works in the K-12 space and Graduation Generation and helps to mobilize the students, faculty, and staff of Emory University to collaborate with K-12 schools and community organizations to provide and support effective programs and services with schools and organizations in the metro Atlanta area seeking to prepare students to graduate to the next level, and be both career and life ready.
  • Plays a critical role in handling and facilitating communications, managing projects, and programming with external and internal partners to support and fostering a culture of service and community engagement.
  • Essential Functions: Serves as a member of the Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) professional staff to assist in developing strategies and initiatives to accomplish identified outcomes with colleagues, senior leadership, and community partners.
  • Serves as a leader and active participant of the CCE K-12 area team and reports to the Director of K-12 Engagement. Serves to inform Graduation Generation's strategic visioning and programming which supports the achievement of the CCE's mission.
  • Works with the team to develop measurable objectives to achieve goals. Develops and maintains systems to effectively deliver programs and services, while considering and leading innovations and improvements in programming.
  • Maintains and develops strong relationships and open communications with all stakeholders. Supporting stakeholders through site visits, email, phone and other communications. Assists with developing and circulating programming and instructional resources.
  • Keeps apprised of best practices in the field (e.g. urban education, student affairs, student-development, after-school programming, assessment, online teaching platforms, and tutoring/mentoring) and technological innovations as related to the position, and makes recommendations on process improvements.
  • Assists in setting annual program benchmarks and establishing an annual program plan. Assists with program budget management.
  • Attends 1:1, staff, Emory Campus Life (ECL), and other University related meetings and events related to the position.
  • Collects, organizes, manages, and maintains program-related information and data. Maintains assessment and risk management/mitigation systems to measure and maintain program work and safety in all areas. Assists with developing systems to maintain the program's online and social media presence.
  • Assists with leading the CCE's efforts in supporting the student groups and initiatives (i.e. service council) centered around service and community engagement. Assists with creating promotional materials and impact/program reports, as needed.
  • Assists in identifying, training, and supervising instructional staff, students, and community partners as necessary. Assists with grant, development, and alumni outreach opportunities, as needed.
  • Supports classes, webinars, teachings, workshops, and other educational initiatives connected to college or other external partners that help promote the mission of Grad Gen and the CCE.
  • Represents Emory, Campus Life, CCE, and Graduation Generation in various campus, community, state, and national settings, when needed and approved by supervisor. Performs related responsibilities required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a field related to specified program areas and one to three years related program management experience, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. A master's degree is preferred.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
