Winship is seeking qualified candidates for the Data Analyst position. Position details are as follows:

 

The Winship Data and Technology Applications Shared Resource seeks a highly motivated data analyst to join our team. The data analyst will actively collaborate with breast program investigators and the shared resource development team to design, development, and manage one or more longitudinal databases. The analyst will support the acquisition, management, and analysis of complex clinical and research data from multiple sources. This position will provide support for the data collection, informatic needs, and data management efforts for the Glenn Family Breast Center and the high-risk breast program at Winship Cancer Institute.

 

The analyst will assist with collection and management of data that includes but is not limited to demographics, risk factors, treatment details, and outcomes of patients who receive their care in the breast program at Winship Cancer Institute . The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing data collection and management plans, gathering, and analyzing data from primary and secondary sources, proficiency in developing reports and queries, knowledge of clinical/healthcare data systems and research data management tools (e.g. REDCap).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data.
  • Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.
  • Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate.
  • Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.
  • Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Informatics, Analytics, Engineering, Data Science, Public Health, Information Systems, or health related field
  • Familiar with collecting and interpreting data in EPIC/ PowerChart /REDCap
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Experience working with clinical/healthcare data
  • Demonstrated experience with relational database management systems
  • Prior data warehousing/ETL experience
  • Familiarity with REDCap
  • Experience with statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS, R
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with particular attention to detail
  • Knowledge of clinical and research data use policies and regulations
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
