Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides emotional support and psychosocial counseling to patients.
  • Assists in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
  • May identify discharge needs and arrange for comprehensive services for patients following discharge from the hospital.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • On-site presence during Emory’s Developmental Progress Clinic (DPC) focused on developmental follow-up of NICU graduates ages 0-5 years of age.
  • Duties during clinic will include resource connection, counseling, education and psychosocial support.
  • Participate in the Atlanta Regional Perinatal Center Region Bridge Program activities, which support parents of DPC families at all Atlanta region Department of Public Health locations by providing services within the scope of social work.
  • Support the Atlanta Region DPC Quality Improvement projects as reported to the Department of Public Health annually by providing services within the scope of social work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in social work, psychology or a related field.
  • Two years of social work/social services experience.
  • Positions within this classification may require licensure as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) or licensed social worker.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in pediatric populations and trauma informed care.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
