This role works to directly support a dynamic portfolio of global partnerships and ensures a seamless exchange experience for over 400 incoming and outgoing students each year across more than 30 countries.

The Associate Director will collaborate closely with the Director of International Programs to guide students through all phases of the exchange process—from pre-departure advising and program selection to in-country support and program completion—while also providing critical academic advising to a cohort of BBA students. This position plays a key role in strengthening relationships with 55 international partner institutions, supporting program operations and events, and contributing to the overall success and continuous improvement of the BBA program.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about global education, student development, and cross-cultural engagement, with a strong ability to manage complex program logistics, support student success, and advance the school’s global initiatives and reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Director of International Programs in advising and guiding more than 400 outgoing and incoming exchange students annually across over 30 countries, managing strategic partnerships with 55 global exchange partners, and serving as an academic advisor to a substantial population of BBA students.
  • Provides programmatic and event support across the BBA program serving approximately 1,600 students.
  • Supports the full semester-based exchange cycle, from pre-abroad advising and program selection through deployment and program completion.
  • Advises designated population of outgoing BBA students on academic course selection, visa and legal requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Provides ongoing support and crisis management for students studying abroad as needed.
  • Advises incoming exchange students on onboarding, Emory administrative requirements, course selection, and navigation of the Goizueta and Emory academic environments.
  • Supports up to 250 outgoing BBA students and up to 200 incoming exchange students annually.
  • Tracks exchange balance, program evolution, and student participation trends to ensure healthy body-to-body exchange relationships.
  • Monitors, maintains, and supports compliance and renewal of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
  • Promotes student recruitment in support of mutually beneficial exchange partnerships.
  • Advances institutional goals by helping to enhance Emory's global reputation and laying groundwork for future collaborations, including short-term programs, global work experiences, and other international initiatives.
  • Serves as an academic advisor to approximately 150 BBA students, with an intake of 25-30 new advisees each semester.
  • Provides coaching and holistic advising on academic pathways, experiential opportunities, and professional development.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of BBA degree requirements, elective offerings, and the five academic areas of the Business School.
  • Assists the Senior Associate Dean and Associate Dean as needed, with primary focus on supporting annual academic and co-curricular events.
  • Collaborates with the BBA Program team on specialized, high-impact, or watershed student programs and initiatives.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of student-facing processes, communications, and program delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field and five years of experience in higher education with a strong preference for a master's degree and/or experience working in international arenas.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable.
