Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Executive Center Administrator for AI Health Initiatives for the School of Medicine (SOM) supports the work of Emory's new Director, AI Health School of Medicine (SOM) Initiative, which focuses on harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to advance human progress in areas such as health, social justice, business and law, and the arts and sciences.
  • Leads development, operational implementation and management of the vision, strategy and goals for the AI Health SOM Initiative.
  • Oversees the initiative, combining expertise from divergent fields with end-users to drive practical innovations.
  • Works closely with research personnel as well as industry partners to design and implement research and translational strategies in artificial intelligence of biomedical imaging data, computational diagnostics, and precision medicine.
  • Provides strategic leadership and advice to the faculty director including implementing practices related to strategic goals, priorities and overall plan.
  • Participates in key development activities, including interfacing with the University Development Team to help support programmatic and institutional development and fundraising efforts. Encompasses broad management and strategic responsibilities of considerable difficulty and sensitivity as it plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the administrative and operational activities.
  • Directs the strategic planning, development and implementation of a large and complex program or of several smaller programs.
  • Oversees programmatic and institutional operations, reviewing budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance to ensure sustainability and growth.
  • Develops short and long term goals and objectives.
  • Oversees related special projects.
  • May represent the program in various national and international settings.
  • May manage the solicitation of funding from foundation, corporate, individual and governmental donors.
  • Collaborates with and seeks the support of representatives from other organizations.
  • Establishes and administers policies, operational frameworks, and best practices to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Supervises, mentors, and inspires a diverse team of staff and researchers, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.

Performs related responsibilities as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or higher in a discipline related to program work and seven years of related experience, OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D or Ph.D. degree or equivalent
  • 10 years minimum industry experience
  • Experience in areas of Advanced Therapies industry such as product development, R&D, project management, quality control and regulatory.
  • Experience in large biomedical industries as well as startups would be considered a positive attribute, as would experience in commercializing products from concept to product.
  • Strong demonstrable experience in developing strategic, financial/budgeting, human resource, business development and translational research , which easily adapt to a higher education environment.
  • Experience working in the research realm with exposure to grants and students.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance.
  • Experience with financial management initiatives and fiscal budget planning, reporting and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Resourceful team player with can-do attitude, global mindset and intercultural openness, intercultural awareness, and ability to cooperate and navigate in virtual settings.
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, adaptable/flexible mindset. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors and customers.
  • Commitment to quality, innovation, and impact in research and healthcare.
  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and building high-performing teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, ability to learn new programs as necessary

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
