Winship is seeking qualified candidates for the Strategic Initiatives Implementation Specialist position. Position details are as follows:

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Strategic Initiatives Implementation Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of high priority strategic initiatives that advance the mission of the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • Ensures that strategic initiatives are well defined, operationally feasible, tracked effectively, and aligned with NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center expectations.
  • The Specialist collaborates with faculty, clinical leaders, program administrators, shared resources, and institutional partners to turn strategic goals into measurable progress.
  • Coordinates the day to day implementation of the Cancer Center¿s strategic initiatives across research and clinical missions.
  • Translates strategic goals into actionable work plans, deliverables, milestones, and timelines.
  • Supports initiative leads (faculty and administrators) in defining scope, identifying resources, and assessing feasibility.
  • Ensures initiatives remain aligned with institutional priorities, catchment area needs, and NCI CCSG guidelines.
  • Manages cross functional workstreams supporting strategic initiatives such as scientific program development and recruitment; clinical trials strategy and accrual growth; multidisciplinary care enhancements; and data integration and research infrastructure improvements.
  • Develops metrics, dashboards, and tracking systems that measure initiative progress and impact.
  • Analyzes data related to research productivity, clinical trial performance, and strategic program achievements.
  • Monitors adherence to NCI expectations for comprehensive cancer centers and support data collection for CCSG submissions.
  • Facilitates communication between initiative leads, faculty, clinical teams, research administration, and external collaborators.
  • Organizes and supports initiative focused meetings, retreats, and workgroups, ensuring clear agendas, documentation, and follow up actions.
  • Prepares initiative briefs, leadership updates, and communication materials tailored for scientific, clinical, and administrative audiences.
  • Supports adoption of new processes, workflows, or structures arising from strategic initiatives.
  • Assists with training, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies to drive initiative success.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen organizational readiness.
  • Researches and incorporate best practices from NCI designated cancer centers related to strategic initiative implementation.
  • Recommends improvements to strategic initiative tracking tools, governance processes, and execution frameworks.
  • Assists leadership in refining initiative selection, prioritization, and evaluation processes.
  • Performs related duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, Biology, or related field required.
  • Master's degree (MPH, MHA, MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Three years of experience supporting strategic initiatives, project management, research administration, clinical operations, or organizational strategy.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, cancer center, or research environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with NCI CCSG requirements is an advantage.
