Emory University's Goizueta Business School is seeking an Associate Director, Student Affairs to support departmental functions. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills when providing information and responding to questions from students/faculty/staff and the general public, a high level of discipline, computer and office skills, the ability to work with databases, and is detail oriented and able to meet deadlines. Professional demeanor, diplomacy and tact are essential in interactions with faculty and students. KEY REPOSONSIBILITIES:
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
- Responsible for tracking and certifying all Undergraduate Business students (including dual BBA/MPA and BBA/MSBA) for graduation during the summer, fall, and spring semesters. This includes:
- Identifying students ready to graduate.
- Submitting reports to BBA Program Office on students failing Degree Requirements at established intervals.
- Entering exceptions/substitutions in the Degree Tracker.
- Confirming all Secondary Majors in the College have been certified by the College.
- Confirming all students have submitted at least one Area Depth.
- Confirming all Degree Applications have been submitted to the University Registrar’s Office.
- Confirming each student has met degree requirements for graduation.
- Responsible for submitting all required materials to the University Registrar’s Office by the published deadlines.
- Maintains Publication and Marching lists for graduation.
- Assist with the daily functions of the GBS Registrar’s Office by tracking documents, maintaining student records, retrieving and storing important departmental records, developing SOPs and providing feedback.
- Management of the GBS’ Registrar Inbox.
- Management of the scheduling and utilization of academic facility space and enforcement of all associated policies.
- Oversee and maintain the comprehensive degree audit system for all undergraduate programs (including dual BBA/MPA and BBA/MSBA).
- Update and maintain the annual GBS Master Schedule.
- Provide accurate and key reports for accrediting bodies, colleges, and program offices on an ongoing basis.
- Develop work plans to accomplish department goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
- Run Continuance and Dean's List Reports at the end of each semester for all programs.
- Coordinate the collection of grades at the end of each class/session, in partnership with the Business Analyst, in line with GBS grading policies.
- Provide Registration support during enrollment periods for all programs.
- Monitor expenditures and may participate in the departmental budget planning process.
- Support the entry of transfer credit/waivers for all programs (with a focus on undergraduate programs).
- Conducts training, represents the department at meetings and networks with affiliated groups/programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in the school's or program's area of specialty or a related field.
- Five years of experience in student affairs, advising, registration, financial aid, or related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work independently with little direction.
- Demonstrated organizational skills in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple and complex assignments/projects and maintaining records.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, University employees and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Experience of working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus.
