JOB DESCRIPTION: Leads processes to develop and document operational procedures for complex technical systems, and provide end-user training to communicate those procedures. Interviews subject matter experts and reviews vendor documentation to obtain data. Develops user documentation, technical training manuals, varied staff development materials, software release notes, and policy documents. Edits departmental communications prepared by other staff. May assist in the design and maintenance of departmental intranet and project websites. Researches and develops departmental processes and procedures. Incorporates new technologies to proactively improve documentation processes, and encourage just-in-time customized training experiences for users . Manages special projects as assigned. May lead or direct staff and/or provide direct customer support to clients. Performs other related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in business administration, English, journalism, computer science or a related field and five years of related work experience which includes technical writing experience in a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat RoboHelp, SharePoint, database and graphics software.
May assist in the on-boarding of new technology initiatives and testing software updates.
Ideal candidate will have experience in higher education, sales, development/fundraising, or other nonprofit environment. Must be comfortable working with all levels of an organization and able to elicit requirements efficiently. Candidate should enjoy a fast paced environment and multitasking cross many concurrent technology projects. Experience with Elucian, Blackbaud, SalesForce and/or other CRM technologies in addition to data visualization tools, and MS/Apple platforms. Experience leading training in a classroom or training lab environment.
