  • Description

    • Supervises activities of zone maintenance personnel for customer services, administrative support and maintenance related activities undertaken by the zone.
    • Coordinates operational plans and schedules crews and facilities using internal and external resources to provide expedient and sustainable solutions to operational issues.
    • Responsible for the zone's departmental budget, ensuring it remains within fiscal constraints.
    • Identifies discrepancies and potential budget adjustments.
    • Approves maintenance requests, equipment replacements and contractor services, as needed.
    • Oversees the inspections of facilities to ensure HVAC, lighting, plumbing, controls and structural systems are in proper working condition.
    • Assists in the preparation of the zone business plan to include MR&R, Capital Renewal Planning and Emergency Response Planning.
    • Monitors and directs work flow by observing and reviewing work performed by staff to ensure efficiency, timely services and a high level of customer satisfaction. Identifies appropriate training to develop employees' skills.
    • Reviews and analyzes reports that summarize achievement of key performance measures. Prepares reports, as needed, to convey the status of the zone.
    • Communicates verbally and in writing using the appropriate media to a broad range of audiences.
    • Utilizes cross training opportunities to enhance and broaden skill levels of zone maintenance staff.
    • Maintains appropriate records on equipment and personnel.
    • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff.
    • Performs related responsibilities as required. 



    A high school diploma or equivalent. Eight years of maintenance/construction experience which includes three years in a supervisory capacity. Operational knowledge of various personal computer software packages and mobile applications. Willing to participate in on and off-duty educational opportunities to continually enhance applicable skills/knowledge. Some positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license, an insurable driving record, the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
