JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists in the development of fund raising strategies for new and existing programs. Researches prospective benefactors. Drafts fund-raising proposals, reports, grants and correspondence. Organizes conferences, colloquia, dinners, courses/lectures, speakers and other events. Participates in fund-raising efforts. Coordinates the preparation and production of newsletters and journals. Maintains information on selected donors and prospects. Maintains mailing lists and supervises mailings. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Located just east of Atlanta in Oxford, GA, Oxford College is a close knit community of 70 faculty, 90 staff, and 975 students. Oxford's Assistant Director of Development will work closely with the Oxford Development and Alumni Relations team to achieve the fundraising and alumni engagement goals of the college. The position will be re-evaluated after three years (before FY 2022) to assess ongoing need and future funding.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the Assistant Director of Development for the Oxford College Development and Alumni Relations Office (OX DAR) will be responsible for Oxford’s annual giving efforts, execution of the alumni giving rate strategic plan and engagement of recent alumni through providing operational support including event management, communications, student/volunteer management, and customer service. Travel may be required.

Excellent verbal and interpersonal and public speaking skills required as position is essential to alumni, donor, and other customer relationships. Seeking a positive, customer focused candidate with a flexible and creative attitude responsible for strategy, events, communications, and customer service. Experience in a similar work environment, proficient skills in Microsoft Office, administrative (processing, email communication, calendar, spreadsheet), and presentation skills, strong communication skills, and a friendly, team focused disposition are required. The successful candidate must have the ability to multi-task and to prioritize, completing projects on time. The person should be self-motivated with an eagerness to continually learn new skills. The candidate must be highly ethical with the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.
