    Temporary PRN postion 

     

    Pay Rate: between $36.68/hr and $50.91/hr (pay rate will be determined based on experience!!!)

     

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION: ** For use by Emory Temporary Services only ** Manages the antepartal, intrapartal, postpartal and interconceptual care of patients whose progress is essentially normal. Oversees the immediate care of these mothers and their newborns and may, as appropriate, provide direct nursing care. Promotes the effectiveness and the efficiency of Nurse-Midwifery Services and promotes the profession. Assists in the recruitment and orientation of new nurse midwives. Assesses patient needs, collaborates with others when establishing care plan and documents all condition progress or change. Communicates patients' needs, responses and progress to family and other team members. Provides patient and family education to ensure a full understanding of the patient's continued care. Participates in peer evaluation activities. Supports and assists in clinical research activities pertaining to Nurse-Midwifery Services. May temporarily assist faculty by providing clinical instruction and supervision in basic nurse-midwifery courses. Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A master's degree in nursing or a related field. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia or a current temporary permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. An Advanced Practice Authorization Letter from the Georgia Board of Nursing. Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives. Two years of nurse midwifery experience.

    This is a PRN position. Hours may vary from 4-28 hours per week, depending on the need for the week. 

     

    The ideal candidate will have flexible availabilty, and will be able to commit to some or all Saturday mornings at the Teen Clinic, some days Monday-Friday in Triage in the Family Birthing Center, and some days in Labor and Delivery (weekends/weekdays).
